(1738) One of the oldest landmarks in northern Suffolk, this building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

300-year old Episcopal Church survived 1781 and 1862 sieges and the “great fire” of 1814. Book & gift shop, 11-2 Tue.-Sat., 10:15-11:15 Sun. Services Sunday @ 7:45, 9:00 & 11:20 AM. Site of Yorktown Summer Concert Series on the lawn.

This courthouse was built in 1831 by Daniel Lynch. The elaborate portico was added in the early 20th century. An 1894 clerk's office stands on the courthouse green. The courthouse square was the scene of military action during the Civil War.

Built in 1920, the Hampton Carousel is one of only 170 working antique wooden carousels in the United States. Hand crafted by the Philadelphia Toboggan Company for the Buckroe Beach Amusement Park, the merry-go-round's 48 horses and two chariots were hand carved by Russian, German and Italian immigrant artisans. When the Amusement Park closed, the horses were completely restored, given their own pavilion and are now a focal point of Hampton's downtown waterfront. This is a great way to begin your exploration of Hampton! 400 Years of rich history are presented in 9 fascinating galleries arranged in chronological order that allow you to experience the excitement of "four centuries on the bay - from the sea to the stars." Hampton is the oldest continuous English-speaking settlement in America and artifacts drawn from the city's extensive collection highlight the diverse contributions of the early villages through the emergence of the modern city as a center of air and space research. An interesting twist to Hampton's history is its strong parallels to American history making it is relevant to people from all over the US.
