Lee Hall Mansion is an Italianate mansion constructed circa 1850 by wealthy planter Richard Decauter Lee. Now restored to its pre-Civil War splendor, the home served as a Confederate headquarters during the 1862 Peninsula Campaign. Guided tours. Peninsula Campaign exhibit gallery featuring Monitor artifacts, drawings, sidearms and presentation firearms. Gift shop. From January 1- March 31 the mansion will be open Thursday-Saturday 10am-4pm & Sunday 12-5pm. From April 1- December 31 Lee Hall will be open Monday, Thursday-Friday 10am-4pm, Saturday 10am-5pm & Sunday 12-5pm. Located at Exit 247 off I-64, just minutes from Colonial Williamsburg, Carter's Grove and all Newport News attractions.

Step aboard the Lightship Portsmouth, a National Historic Landmark. This floating lightship was put into service in 1915 and operated until 1961. Lightshipmen were often at sea for six months at a time. See how the men of the Lightship Service actually lived.

Built circa 1879, the Little England Chapel is Virginia's only-known African American missionary chapel. The sanctuary holds a permanent exhibit that helps visitors understand the religious lives of post-Civil War blacks in Virginia. The display includes handwritten Sunday school lessons, photographs, a 12-minute video and 19th-century religious books. The chapel is both a State and National Historic Landmark.

Designated as "America's National Maritime Museum," The Mariners’ Museum illustrates the spirit of seafaring adventure through a diverse collection of rare figureheads, handcrafted ship models, paintings, and more. Visit the award winning USS Monitor Center, where visitors can be part of the action in the high-definition battle theater, walk a full-scale Monitor replica, view interactive exhibits, and see notable artifacts, like the gun turret, as they undergo conservation. Hours Wednesday – Saturday: 10 A.M. to 5 P.M. Sunday: Noon to 5 P.M. Closed Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Museum will be open on Mondays that coincide with federal holidays. Admission Adults, Youth Ages 13 to 17: $12.00 AAA/Seniors/Military/Students: $11.00 Children Ages 6 to 12: $7.00 Ages 5 and Under: Free Museum Members receive Free Admission

Occupying separate locations, these facilities provide a source for handcrafted traditional articles and a unique display of ancient artifacts, some dating to 5000 B.C. Educational programs at the trading post include pottery, beadwork, cooking and Indian medicine.
