Nauticus, a maritime science museum, celebrates the economic, naval, and natural power of the sea. It features hands-on exhibits, wide-screen high-definition films, theaters with live actors, shark touch, and national-caliber traveling exhibits. Nauticus is also home to the Battleship Wisconsin, the Hampton Roads Naval Museum, the NOAA@Nauticus education center and exhibits, the harbor tour boat Victory Rover, and Virginia’s only passenger ship port—the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center. Hours of operation: Open Memorial Day – Labor Day, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., daily; rest of year, Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.; Sunday, noon – 5 p.m. Nauticus is closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas.

Contains artifacts of naval history, primarily from the Naval Shipyard in Portsmouth, the oldest shipyard in America. See ship models, artillery, uniforms, and much more. Price of ticket admits you to both the Naval Shipyard Museum and the Lightship PORTSMOUTH Museum.

Home port to more than 78 ships of the Atlantic Fleet, Naval Station Norfolk is the world's largest naval installation. Guided bus tours of the base, which are narrated by naval personnel, pass by Atlantic Fleet training centers, awe-inspiring aircraft carriers and sleek submarines. The tour also features historic homes from the 1907 Jamestown Exposition. Tours operate daily but the schedule varies depending on time of year, be sure to call for specific departure times.
