Former U.S. Life-Saving/Coast Guard Station built in 1903 and decommisioned in 1969. Two galleries depict the history of the life-saving service, shipwrecks off the Virginia coast and other exhibits. Gift shop. Restrooms. French tapes & signage in galleries.

Open Sunday, Tuesday and Wednesday 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Located at 130 Main Street in Historic Downtown Smithfield. The Old Courthouse of 1750 was originally modeled after the Capitol Building in Colonial Williams burg. This restored building is owned and operated by the Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquities (APVA).

(1755) The original structure was completely burned by the British in 1779, but was rebuilt shortly after the Revolutionary War. During the Civil War, the courthouse served as part of the headquarters for Major General Peck of the Union Army. In 1837, the courthouse burned again during the "Great Fire" and was rebuilt and used until 1998. The Courthouse is undergoing an extensive renovation as it is the future site for the Suffolk Visitor Center and Tourism office. Completion is expected in summer 2010. Please call for more information. The current Visitor Center is located at 321 North Main Street at the Historic Prentis House (c. 1800).

A tiny but sophisticated courthouse built in the first decade of the 19th century. It served Warwick County (which no longer exists) until the last part of the 19th century when it was converted for used as a clerk's office.

Enjoy a leisurely narrated ride on antique horse drawn carriage through Historic Olde Towne Portsmouth. You will travel in our newly restored Surrey Carriage complete with button tuck seats and fringe top. Our carriage will be pulled by either Minnie, the Belgian draft horse or her good freind, Clyde, the Clydesdale. Tours are currently available on Friday, Saturday and Sundays. The cost for the carriage ride through Historic Olde Towne is $15.00 for adults and $10.00 for children under the age of 10. We pick up passengers at the North Ferry Landing next to the Renaissance Hotel. We are also available for large groups and conventions in Olde Towne/Downtown Portsmouth area.
